Circa una settimana fa il primo ministro ha accusato la società di radiodiffusione Keshet di aver perpetrato "un attacco alla democrazia" e ha invitato le persone al boicottaggio . Un'interessante scelta di parole dall'uomo la cui intera carriera politica non è stata altro che un attacco alla democrazia. Il governo di Benjamin Netanyahu si basa su un assalto ai valori democratici per svuotarli di contenuto , scagliandosi contro le persone che insistono nel difenderli , accompagnando il tutto con lamenti e vittimismo .Sono tutti illegittimi ai suoi occhi: il presidente, la corte, i media, il mondo accademico, la società, la sinistra (la definizione comprende l'intero spettro politico - dalla Joint List ad Avigdor Lieberman), i cittadini arabi e altro ancora Da decenni ormai ha partner strategici nell'attacco alla democrazia." Yamim Noraim " ("Terrible Days"), il film inquietante di Yaron Zilberman e co-scritto da Ron Leshem sull'assassinio di Yitzhak Rabin, mostra come Netanyahu si è associato all'istituzione rabbinica e come insieme hanno favorito il clima nel quale è maturato l'assassino, Yigal Amir.Il film segue gli eventi che hanno portato all'omicidio di Rabin dal punto di vista dell'assassino. Menziona i rabbini che hanno permesso lo spargimento di sangue e i politici che hanno applaudito e sono stati fotografati con le bare, quelli che si trovavano a capo delle dimostrazioni con i cappi dell'impiccato, quelli per i quali il sito dell'attacco è diventato una discoteca per ballare sul sangue.Coraggiosamente, il film riporta in primo pianola responsabilitàdi Netanyahu e dell'establishment rabbinico per l'omicidio, che nel corso degli anni è stato offuscato da intenzionali imbiancature collettive.
Il problema è che Netanyahu e i suoi partner strategici pensano che chiunque non condivida la loro visione del mondo non sia legittimo. E così affermano che i media che riportano la notizia sono di parte , che la società civile è pericolosa, che bisogna agire contro i cittadini arabi, che il mondo accademico è una malattia. Si trovava sul balcone di Gerusalemme in Piazza Sion ,quando 24 anni fa i manifestanti chiamavano Rabin traditore e assassino e ,ieri come oggi, non fa nulla per impedire il prossimo omicidio. Al contrario continua a convocare il suo coro di odio . Amir è in prigione, ma i rabbini che hanno incitato all'omicidio camminano liberi e continuano a incitare e pubblicare le loro opinioni spregevoli.Le autorità di polizia non hanno fatto il minimo sforzo per trovarli e per consegnarli alla giustizia e, oggi, si permettono di diffondere la loro nauseabonda dottrina razziale nelle istituzioni finanziate con fondi pubblici.
I rabbini fanatici hanno imparato dall'esperienza ad essere immuni dalla punizione, anche quando concedono legittimità religiosa al furto e alla violenza (in parole povere : al "progetto di insediamento"), ai massacri, all'assassinio di un primo ministro, allo stupro di donne non ebree (in tempo di guerra) e pesino all'uccisione di bambini (non ebrei). È così il ministro dell'istruzione Rafi Peretz e il ministro dei trasporti Bezalel Smotrich hanno recentemente assegnato un premio per la "creatività della Torah" al rabbino Yitzhak Ginzburg un razzista spregevole che si incammina verso il genocidio e loda l'assassino Baruch Goldstein.
Nel 1995 si potrebbe ancora affermare che Netanyahu non capiva quali demoni stesse scatenando. Ma quel pensiero ingenuo avrebbe dovuto essere sepolto sei mesi dopo, quando nella campagna elettorale lui e i rabbini lanciarono lo slogan razzista "Netanyahu fa bene agli ebrei".
Netanyahu e i rabbini sanno benissimo cosa stanno facendo: l'omicidio di Rabin li ha portati al potere, il loro incitamento e la macchina dell'odio permettono loro di continuare a tenerlo stretto.

Benjamin Netanyahu’s government is based on an assault on democratic values: emptying them of content and inciting against people who insist on holding them, accompanied by wailing and playing the victim.They’re all illegitimate in his eyes: the president, the court, the prosecution, the media, the academic world, society, the leftists (the definition includes the whole political spectrum – from the Joint List to Avigdor Lieberman), the Arab citizens and more. For decades now he has had strategic partners in the attack on democracy.“Yamim Noraim” (“Terrible Days”), the unsettling film by Yaron Zilberman and co-written by Ron Leshem about the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin, shows how Netanyahu associated himself with the rabbinic establishment and how together, they fostered and raised furrows of wild weeds in which the assassin, Yigal Amir, grew.
The film follows the events that led to Rabin’s murder from the perspective of the assassin. It mentions the rabbis who permitted bloodshed and the politicians who applauded and were photographed with coffins, the ones who stood at the head of demonstrations that featured hangman’s nooses – those for whom the site of the attack became a nightclub for dancing on blood.Courageously, the film brings back the responsibility of Netanyahu and the rabbinic establishment for the murder into focus, which over the years has been blurred by intentional collective whitewashing.
The problem is that Netanyahu and his strategic partners think that anyone who does not share their worldview is not legitimate. And so they allow themselves to say that the media that reports the news is enlisted media, that civil society is dangerous, that action must be taken against the Arab citizens, that academia is a sickness.Just as he stood on the balcony in Jerusalem’s Zion Square while demonstrators below called Rabin a traitor and killer 24 years ago, Netanyahu does nothing to prevent the next murder. On the contrary, he continues to call together his choir of incitement. Amir is in prison, but the rabbis who incited to murder walk free and continue to incite and publish their contemptible opinions.
The law enforcement authorities made not the slightest effort at the time to find them and bring them to justice, and today they allow themselves to go on spreading their nauseating racial doctrine in publicly funded institutions.
The fanatical rabbis have learned from experience that they are immune from punishment, even when they grant religious legitimacy to stealing and violence (in whitewashed words: to “the settlement project”), to massacres, to the murder of a prime minister, to the rape of non-Jewish women (in wartime) and even to the killing of (non-Jewish) babies. That is how Education Minister Rafi Peretz and Transportation Minister Bezalel Smotrich recently gave an award for “Torah creativity” to Rabbi Yitzhak Ginzburg of all people, a despicable racist who indoctrinates toward genocide and praises the murderer Baruch Goldstein.In 1995 it could still be claimed that Netanyahu did not understand what demons he was unleashing. But that naïve thought should have been buried six months later, when in the election campaign he and the rabbis launched the racist slogan “Netanyahu is good for the Jews.”
Netanyahu and the rabbis know very well what they’re doing: Rabin’s murder brought them to power, their incitement and hatred machine allow them to continue to hold on to it.
