Visualizing Occupation: Divide and Conquer

Despite sharing a national identity, the Palestinian people are parceled into differential categories along geographical, socioeconomic, humanitarian, political and civilian lines determined by Israel: Palestinians holding Israeli citizenship, residents of East Jerusalem, those living in the West Bank, those in the Gaza Strip, and the refugees.  In this seventh illustration in a series of infographics on Palestinian civilian life under occupation, see the divisions that dictate Palestinian existence.

        La comunità ebraica difende CasaPound. E attacca De Magistris Il sindaco aveva duramente accusato l’associazione: «Sono nazifascisti». La risposta: «Sì ma il sindaco sta con Abu Mazen, negazionista dell’Olocausto» iltempo.it     Gigi De Magistris proprio non riesce a piacere a nessuno dei suoi concittadini, nemmeno rispolverando uno dei cavalli di battaglia più abusati del politically correct: l'antifascismo. Eppure la comunità ebraica di Napoli e Casapound c'è una frattura praticamente insanabile. Le relazioni sono praticamente inesistenti e nessuna diplomazia è mai riuscita ad avvicinare due mondi agli antipodi. Solo l'avversione verso il sindaco ha compiuto questo miracolo. A few weeks earlier, in the summer of 1939, members of the Haganah – the underground army of compulsory Palestinian Jews founded by the movement before independence – had murdered two men and a woman and injured a young girl and a toddler. All of them were innocent Arabs from the village of Lubya in Lower Galilee, who were shot at home in the middle of the night. The killings, which were described as revenge attacks for the murder of a Jew by villagers in Lubya, were carried out by members of the Haganah Special Forces.
