The publication of the interim report of the Winograd Committee tomorrow is a marginal event. Except for the fate of several individuals, who at most will be replaced by similar ones, nothing will be different the day after. The generals and politicians who cheered for the war from its outset, in a frighteningly unified chorus, will again fill the television screens, this time in the role of admonishers, as pitiful Monday-morning quarterbacks. And we will forgive them their gleeful support for the war.

Con grande malinconia ho letto l'articolo di Meotti sul Foglio, riportato da IC il 29.12 . E' una rassegna abbastanza completa di molte delle opinioni piu' allucinate e pazzesche che circolano oggi in Israele, che tuttavia non lascia spazio alcuno alle opinioni piu' equilibrate e sobrie che pur sempre esistono, e di fatto prevalgono amp iamente nell'opinione pubblica del paese. Pensare a Israele nei termini della Bosnia-Erzegovina, o del Libano, o perfino di Cipro significa aver rinunciato all'idea di uno stato d'Israele ebraico e democratico. Proporre il modello yugoslavo o quello libanese come esempi ideali per la soluzione di un conflitto multi-etnico offende il buon senso e assume l'aria di una provocazione. Non bisogna dare corda a queste opinioni di piccoli gruppi di estremisti, i cosiddetti 100.000 maggiormente ideologizzati, deridendo o ignorando i molti milioni di moderati, Meotti intanto sbaglia come gia' in passato i numeri.
