Haaretz : IL RAZZISMO NEI CONFRONTI DEGLI ARABI ISRAELIANI INIZIA CON NETANYAHU
Il perseguimento della supremazia ebraica, la discriminazione contro i cittadini arabi di Israele e l'approfondimento dell'Occupazione è il lavoro di una vita di Benjamin Netanyahu. Il motto della sua prima campagna era "Netanyahu è Un Bene Per Gli Ebrei". Nel 2003, come Ministro delle Finanze nel governo di Ariel Sharon, dichiarò: "Abbiamo un problema demografico, ma non riguarda gli arabi palestinesi, ma gli arabi israeliani che rimarranno cittadini israeliani".
Quando è tornato al governo, ha lavorato per attuare l'ideologia razzista. Inizialmente c'era la limitazione dell'espressione politica nella società araba e successivamente la falsa affermazione che "gli arabi andranno alle urne a frotte" e la legislazione dello Stato-Nazione che stabiliva la supremazia ebraica nelle leggi fondamentali di Israele.
Netanyahu crede che coltivare l'odio per gli arabi unisca la sua "base" e mantenga la sinistra lontano dal potere. Questo è stato anche il caso della sua campagna "Abu Yair" nelle comunità arabe. Durante il breve mandato del governo Bennett-Lapid, Netanyahu è tornato al razzismo totale e ha accusato Naftali Bennett e Yair Lapid di aver trasferito miliardi a "sostenitori del terrorismo".
Nel suo attuale mandato, Netanyahu ha perseguito una politica discriminatoria e razzista su entrambi i lati della Linea Verde del 1967. Il suo governo è indifferente all'ondata di omicidi nelle comunità arabe e alle organizzazioni criminali che prendono il controllo della vita di centinaia di migliaia di cittadini. Nega l'esistenza del terrorismo ebraico in Cisgiordania, che i membri della coalizione di governo incoraggiano apertamente.
L'ideatore del Colpo di Stato giudiziario, il Ministro della Giustizia Yariv Levin, lo ha giustificato dicendo che "gli arabi stanno comprando appartamenti in Galilea costringendo gli ebrei ad andarsene" e sottintendendo che depotenziare la Corte Suprema renderebbe possibile impedirlo. La seconda legge del comitato di ammissione è stata un passo importante sulla strada per escludere gli arabi dalle località ebraiche, e l'elenco delle leggi anti-arabe in cantiere in Parlamento rimane lungo.
Netanyahu si è sempre nascosto dietro collaboratori e familiari quando si tratta di decisioni impopolari. Nel suo attuale mandato, ha affidato la repressione degli arabi a Bezalel Smotrich e Itamar Ben-Gvir. Il Ministro delle Finanze Smotrich si rifiuta di trasferire i fondi essenziali alle autorità locali arabe e Netanyahu inizialmente lo ha sostenuto con il suo silenzio, suggerendo solo tardivamente di aver trovato un modo per trasferire i fondi istituendo una commissione che controllerà dove finisce il denaro.
Il suo messaggio a un quinto dei cittadini di Israele e ai milioni di altri sotto il suo controllo è che le loro vite e il loro benessere "non sono tra le priorità del governo", come ha sinceramente affermato Smotrich. Perché dietro ogni orgoglioso razzista si nasconde il sovrano che dà loro sostegno e una spinta in avanti.
Racism Towards Arab Israelis Starts With Netanyahu

The pursuit of Jewish supremacy, discrimination against Israel’s Arab citizens and the deepening of the occupation is Benjamin Netanyahu’s life’s work. His first campaign slogan was “Netanyahu is good for the Jews.” As finance minister in Ariel Sharon’s government, in 2003, he declared, “We have a demographic problem, but it lies not with the Palestinian Arabs, but with the Israeli Arabs” who will remain Israeli citizens.
When he returned to the leadership, he worked to implement the racist ideology. Initially there was the limitation on political expression in Arab society and later the false claim that “the Arabs are going to the polls in droves” and the nation-state legislation that established Jewish supremacy in Israel’s Basic Laws.
Netanyahu believes that cultivating hatred of Arabs unites his “base” and keeps the left wing out of power. That was also the case with his “Abu Yair” campaign in Arab communities. During the short tenure of the Bennett-Lapid government, Netanyahu returned to full-bore racism and accused Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid of transferring billions to “supporters of terror.”
In his current term, Netanyahu has been pursuing a discriminatory and racist policy on both sides of the 1967 Green Line. His government is apathetic to the wave of murders in Arab communities and to crime organizations’ taking control of the lives of hundreds of thousands of citizens. It denies the existence of Jewish terrorism in the West Bank, which members of the government coalition are openly encouraging.
The initiator of the government coup, Justice Minister Yariv Levin, justified it by saying that “Arabs are buying apartments in the Galilee and causing Jews to leave” and implying that crushing the High Court of Justice would make it possible to prevent that. The second admissions committee law was a major step on the road to excluding Arabs from Jewish locales, and the list of anti-Arab bills in the parliamentary pipeline remains long.
Netanyahu has always hidden behind partners and family members when it comes to unpopular decisions. In his current term, he has outsourced the repression of Arabs to Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir. Finance Minister Smotrich refuses to transfer essential funding to Arab local authorities and Netanyahu initially backed him through his silence, only belatedly suggesting he has worked out a way to transfer the funds by setting up a committee that will inspect where the money ends up.
His message to one-fifth of the citizens of Israel and the millions of others under its control is that their lives and well-being “aren’t among the government’s priorities,” as Smotrich has truthfully said. Because hiding behind every proud racist is the ruler giving them backing and a push forward.
