Fonti di Gaza: i missili sono stati lanciati contro la volontà di Hamas

Fonti palestinesi nella Striscia di Gaza hanno detto a Ynet che il pesante lancio di razzi contro le comunità di confine israeliane venerdì sera è stato fatto contro la volontà di Hamas.

L'attacco è stato probabilmente portato avanti  dai terroristi della Jihad islamica, che stavano segnalando all'intelligence egiziana la loro insoddisfazione per l'esclusione dei colloqui per il cessate il fuoco.

"La resistenza non può stare silente di fronte alla continua uccisione di persone a sangue freddo da parte di Israele", ha detto un funzionario della Jihad islamica in una dichiarazione venerdì sera.

. La resistenza ha ripetutamente avvertito di non danneggiare i civili, ma Israele ha continuato a non rispettare la legge", 

  

Sebbene l'attacco sia stato effettuato dalla Jihad Islamica, l'IDF ha sottolineato che Israele ritiene ancora Hamas responsabile:

"Hamas ha la responsabilità di tutto ciò che accade dentro e fuori la Striscia di Gaza, contro i cittadini israeliani", hanno detto i militari in una dichiarazione. 

 

L'IDF ha anche accusato l'Iran e la Siria  di dirigere il lancio di missilia  ggiungendo che la risposta di Israele non sarà "limitata geograficamente".

Nelle ultime settimane, una delegazione di alti funzionari dell'intelligence egiziana ha visitato la Striscia di Gaza nel tentativo di mediare un accordo tra Hamas e Israele che includa la fine delle recenti ostilità.

Secondo Al-Hayat, come parte dei negoziati, Israele ha accettato di espandere la zona di pesca nella Striscia di Gaza, trasferire combustibile, aumentare la fornitura di energia elettrica e consentire la prosecuzione della costruzione di progetti infrastrutturali delle Nazioni Unite nella striscia.

Funzionari dell'intelligence egiziana hanno presentato il piano alla leadership dell'Autorità palestinese, che ha espresso la sua opposizione a qualsiasi accordo tra Israele e una delle fazioni palestinesi senza il suo coinvolgimento,  in quanto unico rappresentante legittimo del popolo palestinese.

 

Il presidente palestinese Mahmoud Abbas ha condizionato il suo consenso a tale accordo rial rinnovo dell' accordo di riconciliazione e alla ripresa dell' l'attività del governo palestinese nella Striscia di Gaza, in modo da rappresentare il popolo palestinese

Gli egiziani hanno spiegato che il loro obiettivo è un accordo in base nel qual Israele allevi la sua restrizione sulla Striscia di Gaza in cambio della cessazione dei violenti scontri alla frontiera

I membri della delegazione egiziana, che si sono incontrati con la leadership di Hamas quattro volte in due settimane, hanno anche tenuto un incontro con i rappresentanti delle altre fazioni palestinesi nella striscia la scorsa settimana.

Funzionari dell'intelligence egiziana hanno dichiarato alle fazioni palestinesi che i loro sforzi avevano impedito una guerra a Gaza . Secondo il rapporto, i rappresentanti delle altre fazioni palestinesi hanno accettato la proposta egiziana.

Nel frattempo, un alto funzionario palestinese ha riferito all'Associated Press che il Sultano dell'Oman, Qaboos bin Said, ha offerto  al primo ministro Benjamin Netanyahu ,durante la sua visita nel paese, il suo impegno a svolgere un ruolo di mediazione tra palestinesi e israeliani e che il presidente palestinese Mahmoud Abbas aveva  accolto con favore qualsiasi processo di pace "significativo".

 

L'inviato in Medio Oriente del Presidente degli Stati Uniti Donald Trump, Jason Greenblat,  ha affermato che l'incontro "è un passo utile per i nostri sforzi di pace ed essenziale per creare un'atmosfera di stabilità, sicurezza e prosperità tra israeliani, palestinesi e i loro vicini".

Palestinian sources in the Gaza Strip have told Ynet that the heavy rocket fire into Israeli border communities on Friday night was done against Hamas's will.

The attack was likely carried out by Islamic Jihad terrorists, who were signaling to Egyptian intelligence that they were dissatisfied with the fact they were being excluded in the ceasefire talks.

"The resistance cannot stand idly by in the face of the continued killing of people in cold blood by Israel," an Islamic Jihad official said in a statement Friday night.

The resistance has long been committed to restraint in an effort to bring about a ceasefire... The resistance has repeatedly warned against harming civilians, but Israel has continued not to honor the law," the statement continued.

  

Although the attack was carried out by Islamic Jihad, the IDF emphasized that Israel still holds Hamas responsible for all fire out of Gaza and has seen no signs of Hamas trying to stop the fire.

"Hamas bears responsibility for everything happening in and out of the Gaza Strip, and it will bear the consequences for the terrorist acts carried out against Israeli citizens," the military said in a statement. 

"The IDF will act with great force against terrorist attacks of any kind from the Gaza Strip and gravely sees the terror activity being led by the organizations. IDF is prepared for a variety of scenarios and is determined to continue its mission to protect the citizens of Israel," the statement continued.

The IDF also accused Iran and Syria of directing the rocket fire. "We have seen and established a clear link between Gaza and Damascus. Orders and incentives were given from Damascus with a clear involvement of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' Quds Force," IDF spokesman Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus said, adding that Israel's response will not be "limited geographically."

In recent weeks, a delegation of senior Egyptian intelligence officials have been visiting the Gaza Strip in an effort to mediate an arrangement between Hamas and Israel that would include an end to the recent hostilities.

According to Al-Hayat, as part of the negotiations, Israel has agreed to expand the fishing zone in the Gaza Strip, transfer fuel, increase the electricity supply, and allow the continued construction of UN infrastructure projects in the strip.

Egyptian intelligence officials presented the plan to the Palestinian Authority leadership, which expressed its opposition to any agreement between Israel and one of the Palestinian factions without its involvement and signature as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people 
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has conditioned his consent to such an agreement by renewing and implementing the reconciliation agreement and resuming the Palestinian government's activity in the Gaza Strip, so that it will be the representative of the Palestinian people in a possible ceasefire deal with Israel.

The Egyptians explained their aim is a deal in which Israel eases its restriction on the Gaza Strip in return for a cessation of the violent rioting on the border as part of the "March of Return" campaign, and not a truce or a general ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

Al-Hayat reported the understandings reached so far would soon be publicly presented by Egyptian Intelligence Chief Abbas Kamel.

The members of the Egyptian delegation, which met with Hamas leadership four times in two weeks, also held a meeting with representatives of the other Palestinian factions in the strip last week.

Egyptian intelligence officials told the Palestinian factions that their efforts had prevented a war in Gaza and suggested that they commit to the understandings with Israel. According to the report, the representatives of the other Palestinian factions agreed to the Egyptian proposal.

Meanwhile, a senior Palestinian official told the Associated Press on Friday that Oman’s Sultan Qaboos bin Said had offered to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his visit to the country to play a role mediating between the Palestinians and Israelis, and that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas had said he welcomed any “meaningful” peace process

US President Donald Trump's Middle East envoy Jason Greenblat welcomed Netanyahu's meeting with the Sultan and said that the meeting "is a helpful step for our peace efforts & essential to create an atmosphere of stability, security & prosperity between Israelis, Palestinians & their neighbors.”

“Looking forward to seeing more meetings like this!" he added.
